This study aimed to capture all the intended
and unintended consequences to determine the role of mini grids in providing
uninterrupted power supply to local medical and health-care facilities. A
survey was conducted to identify the energy needs as well as challenges these
facilities in mini-grid catchment areas encountered as a result of power
outages. The survey adopted a cross-sectional mixed-method study design,
consisting of quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection. The survey was conducted in three districts of
Uttar Pradesh (Bahraich, Deoria and Gonda) and two districts of Bihar
(Muzaffarpur and Samastipur).
