The project overall objective to strengthen policy and programme
environment to address child marriage through South Asia Regional platforms led
by SAIEVAC, an apex body of SAARC; while building evidence for multi-sectorial,
integrated and convergent approach at district levels on the issue in six high
child marriage prevalence districts across in India. An endline survey was
conducted by Iotalytics in order to assess the effect of intervention on
knowledge on child marriage laws, support seeking among youth, perception of
parents and key community stakeholders, knowledge of local representatives and
outreach functionaries etc. The study was conducted in Gonda, Shrawasti and
Lalitpur districts of Uttar Pradesh and Jehanabad, Saharsa and Arwal districts
of Bihar. The target population of the study were adolescent girls and boys
aged 10-19 years, parents, health workers, District level officers, child
protection officer, DRPO, BDO.
