A
structured quantitative survey was carried out with a primary sample of 22
NGO/CSO managers from Karnataka, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Odisha
in India. The qualitative research team conducted 19 in-depth interviews (IDIs)
with organizational leaders and four Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with
different communities of women. The study adopted a mixed-methods approach, and
Insights from the existing literature, quantitative survey and qualitative
research were triangulated to arrive at a contextualized understanding of the
gaps, opportunities and challenges in the current women’s empowerment landscape
in India.
